There are two ways to enjoy flagstone at your home.

Wet Laid
The stone is secured with cement to a concrete base. The joints are filled with cement.

Dry Laid
Stone is placed on a foundation of compacted crushed stone. The joints are filled with sand, pea gravel or dirt.
